Rossukon Oil Field: A Global Benchmark

  • The Rossukon Oil Field (Block G6/48), located in the Gulf of Thailand, stands as the centerpiece of NGP’s portfolio. Discovered in 2009 and declared commercial following four successful appraisal wells in 2015, Rossukon represents both strategic foresight and technical capability.
  • In April 2023, NGP acquired 100% working interest and full operatorship of the field. What followed was a record-breaking development effort: from first construction to first oil in just six months. On November 13, 2023, we achieved first oil — setting a new global benchmark for offshore field development speed and efficiency.
  • Rossukon was developed using a Mobile Offshore Production Unit (MOPU) paired with a Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) vessel, allowing for modular, cost-effective, and scalable infrastructure deployment.

Rossukon Operational Highlights

  • Since the start of Phase 1 operations in 2023, the field has achieved peak production of 6,500 barrels per day, with stable crude lifting every two months. The field is supported by eight development wells drilled from a pre-installed wellhead deck on the MOPU.
  • In 2025, NGP successfully executed its second drilling campaign at Rossukon, adding up to 11 infill wells. This expansion boosted daily production capacity to between 13,000 and 15,000 barrels per day.
  • Rossukon’s high-quality crude has received strong market demand, achieving pricing premiums through competitive bidding from the very first cargoes — reinforcing its value not just operationally, but commercially.
